Production and dispatch
The phone app on the workshop floor
Put ArtworkDesk on a phone's home screen and use the Today view: your jobs, rush and earliest first, with one big button to move each on.
ArtworkDesk works in the browser on any phone or tablet. You can also add it to the home screen, so it opens like an app, full screen, without the browser's address bar.
Today
Production > Phone view opens Today: the jobs in your departments that are queued or in production, rush and earliest due first, as large cards that are easy to read on a small screen.
Each card shows the job number, what's being made, the customer, the due date (in pink when it's late), where the job is now, and whether it's on hold. Tap the big button to move it on: Start for a queued job, then Move to each stage in turn, and finally Ready to dispatch. Tap the job number for the job's details.
If any jobs are assigned to you, Today shows just yours. Tap Everyone's to see the rest of your departments. Jobs that are ready to dispatch are listed at the bottom.
A job waiting for payment says so and has no button, until the office records the payment.
With scanning on your plan, Scan job sheets opens the scan station, where you can scan the QR code on each printed job sheet with the phone's camera. See The production board.
Adding it to your home screen
- Android (Chrome): on Today, tap Add to home screen. Or open the browser's menu and tap Install app or Add to home screen.
- iPhone and iPad (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Computer (Chrome or Edge): click the install icon at the right of the address bar.
The app opens on your dashboard. Press and hold its icon (or right-click it on a computer) for shortcuts straight to Today, the scan station and Orders.
On a white-labelled account, the app is named after your business.
No signal?
If the phone loses its connection, ArtworkDesk shows a No connection page instead of the browser's error. Tap Try again when you're back online. The app doesn't keep copies of your orders or customers on the phone.
